My dream

by Nancy   Jul 31, 2006

I lay awake at night,
not wanting to dream.
Wondering where it would bring me,
afraid not to scream.

Voices haunt me in the night,
the one who dare not speak.
Moving into the dark,
my love for you so bleak.

My tears are falling,
on my pillow they rest.
My hands covering my face,
you got of me the best.

I feel so lonely,
the darkness is crawling by.
I can't forget you,
wish you could give it another try

But tears are still falling,
shining like little stars.
My heart is still aching,
I still can feel the scars.

My hands are reaching,
for the one I love.
I pray and pray,
for a blessing from above.

    But tears are still falling,

That's got to be my favorite line, but I also love the last line, the praying for a blessing from above. These lines express a lot of emotion and bolden the poem, making it stronger. Love it! Once in a while the rhymes seemed a little forced, but other then that perfect! Keep writing!
