Australian flag drapes your coffin
A soldiers farewell has begun
As we begin the slow journey
Of letting you go

One by one, the veterans come
and place their poppies on the flag,
They salute you and your service
The Last Post is played

Your picture in a cedar frame
Is black and white and beautiful
Your smiling and so young
The loss is to great
We already miss you

You are the one that kept us safe
We cry and cry and cry
And they play the song a wonderful world
Its not fair you had to die

Granddad, we all love you,
And you were a good man
But now you are somewhere else,
Up there with my Gran.
