Cold Rain

by sibyllene   Aug 4, 2006

They say the rain is light
like kisses; those poets fancy
touches of love
in the drops.

But I know
the cold glow
the river Styx from the sky
is the rain

wrapping around your chest
heart-stopping
ice whips in a million
silver pins

drowning your soul
even the sound
a constant reminder
of the cold.

It's like they say
it's always sunshiny in Eden
and just the drops from stolen
fruit foreshadow how

the rain is
the death in the cycle of life.

Wow! that was good.. its amazing how rain can have such a metaphorical meaning, but you seemed to pull it off.. wonderful descriptions, good flow, and quite emotional.. nice job! 5/5

Exceptional writing. Especially liked the reference to Styx. The imagery was good as was the flow. Keep it up.
