Voices In My Head

by Twisted Heart   Aug 5, 2006

Several people make their home
Right inside my head
They never listen to me
Not hearing words I've said.

I try to block them from my mind
Ignoring all their pleas
But with so many in my head
They argue constantly.

When I wake each morning
A few are their to greet
But I'm never really sure
Which one my friends will meet.

Will it be the truthful one
Who's words are loud and brash
Or will it be the one who fights
Who'll kick you in the ass.

Will it be a gentle soul
Who makes you so at ease
Or will it be the one
Who always aims to please.

Is it the one who tells a joke
Who thinks that life is funny
Or the one who frets a lot
Because she's out of money.

Maybe it's the older woman
Who cries throughout the day
Or the mischievious little girl
Who always wants to play.

You see, there are so many
No comfort do I find
All the bickering is done
Right inside my mind.

So I asked my Doctor
To give me something quick
He gave me lots of little pills
He said They'd do the trick.

Now I am much better
My friends have finally found
I'm a better person
When my mind is not around.
