Regreting the lack of good, not the overwhelming bad

by Not just a metaphorical genius   Aug 7, 2006

Its easy to think, that I would have turned back
Changed my path, and picked up the slack
One lifetime in hell is more than enough
With each scar, I just got more tough

I dont regret, a moment of time
Only the good people, the ones whose hearts shine
Moving forward in time, while looking back at the past
What I learned from, and what life had asked

But one thing, I should have done
I should have known, but fate had won
I shouldve let you go, ruin one life, instead of two
But it was harder, than I was willing to do

So there we were, doomed from the start
Minds running, but bound by our heart
A tie made broken, by lies and pain
A course set on collision, a derailed train

But its wonderful, to regret things like this
Regret knowing true love, and a perfect kiss
Id rather regret us, than regret knowing nothing
Regret knowing perfection, instead of self loathing

Its the good things that kill us, how ever slow
The things that are hidden, instead of the ones that show
All good things must end, and when they do
Youll regret knowing good, because youll have only you
