This Rose is Fading

by [a.i.n.s.l.e.y]   Aug 8, 2006

This rose is fading
Petals are falling
Colour lay dying
On shattered thorns.

The leaves are breaking
Buds are aching
The roots are tearing
Life is leaving.

Surrounding this rose
Mirrors are broken
Barbed wire is coiled
Tears lie fallen.

The trace of colour
Is slipping away
Its spirit is dying
The rose is gone.
