She knows not

Sweet as the words may sound
Gracious as the gestures may be
In her misery, she has drowned
Awaiting the next strike in fear

Stranger to her family
On the outside looking in
Regretting mistakes she has made
Uncomfortable in her own skin

Sometimes they feel her anger
Pain, the eyes don't reveal
Sleeping through the hours
Hoping that time will heal

Pages in her diary
Praying to be read
She knows not
Her reader too has bled
