Yet

by Peter Williams   Aug 16, 2006

I think I'll walk one thousand miles,
Through the faces,
Through the smiles.
For when I got things right I got them wrong,
Like a story,
Like a song.
I thought I knew the world but the world knew me.
Now I'm deaf and cannot see.
Just as I was beginning to understand,
Just as the boy was becoming a man,
The world turned upside down.
There's still mystery and drama,
When I thought there was none.
Life comes at you fast not slow.
I thought I knew but now I know.
Maybe the story is just beginning,
When I thought it was ending.
There's much to do and more to see,
And whatever happens I'll still be me.
It's not over.
