Brave Face

by Tasha   Aug 18, 2006

The cold air harshly bit her cheek.
She could not cry,
She would not weep.

Not for a second would she scream in pain.
It would only prove, it won again.
Holding high her head so tall,
She would not be first to fall.

As the fierce wind thrashed upon her face.
She walked so carefree, she kept her grace.

Inside eyes all lay on her,
hanging on for life.
They couldn't tell all the courage,
and all of her drive.

But then it crashed, and thrashed
and stormed.
It would not give up,
she was warned.

Finally she broke,
she wailed and fell.
She lost her courage, and grace as well.

The eyes upon her, as they all cried.
She got back up; lost
but gained some pride. -
