One Last Look with The Reaper

by Bradley Peter   Aug 19, 2006

Take one last look
upon your life
say your goodbyes
to child and wife
now look ahead
and not behind
put their faces
in back of mind

come with me child
take thy hand
for no mere mortal
does time stand
time must fly
as must we
take my hand child
and you shall see

past we'll visit
see bad and good
see the choices
you misunderstood
see roads taken
see life shaped
see your destiny
you near escaped

then to present
where now we stand
see the trials
of life at hand
see as it is now
and how you're seen
your simple life
in the present scene

next to the future
that you'll not see
the life to have
now not to be
there you shall view
what was in store
but now will remain
behind closed door

seen your life
now see your death
as I 'The Reaper'
take thou last breath
where you'll end
i do not know
whether heaven or hell
you're now to go

Hey gorgeous, thnx 4 da comment. da reason i haven't commented on ur work recently is cos u've written ur recent work when I'm there which means I get 2 tell u in person my opinions. I tly lyk dis poem tho as I tld u b4, I think one ov da elements I rly lyk about it is the flow and rhythm maintained throughout, its so flawless that it seems lyk it is one contnuous poem> I know that sounds weird but I mean that the stanzas unlike in other poems don't effectt the rhythm as teh flow is continuous from one to the next is the best way I can describe it, even though its a crap explanation for what i really mean.

Love you lots and lots and lots,
