The Plague

by Cody   Aug 20, 2006

Gather around little ones and I shall tell
how a world rose and fell
i shall say
how it all withered away

once the world was happy
people were always laughing
I know it seems strange now
when all we see is death around

These people did not know pain
until the plague came
it was a plague of the soul
it turned there hearts as black as coal
greed it was named
it was what brought the pain

best friends turned on one another
brother on brother
lover killed lover
I still don't see how the world will recover

so be careful and remember now
because childhood it where true happiness is found
keep it your soul forever
maybe then things will get better

I think this is more suited to being a sad poem hun, and though the rhymes seemed a bit corny they worked, its an odd poem in that I hate to love it Lol. Its simple and bare and yet it gets a story across in a very odd and interesting manner. what else do you have for me?

    bring it on!
