Speak

by free fall   Aug 22, 2006

Staring out the window
smiling at the rain
inside gently laughing
ignoring all the pain

apathy, my new best friend
emotions locked away
wait for numbness to enthrall
beg for it to stay

silence grips me through the day
sadness through the night
but tell of it, i do not
my body full of fright

the consequence of speaking now
unthinkable in the least
but tugging at me more and more
is guilt, the heartless beast

speak: life may change for worst
buried moments may arise
silence: heart will slowly break
live life consumed in lies

this is it
do or die
no turning back
telling all
hope for best
fearing worst
hand shakes
eyes fill
soul speaks.
