My Little Observations

What is a smile
But a frown flipped upside down?
How can a circle be a circle
If it doesn't go all the way 'round?
How gratifying is a win
When another must lose?
What good is having free-will
If one does not know how to choose?
What is the point of uniqueness
If everyone simply conforms,
What to appreciate in the sunshine
Without the occassional storm?
Is a friendship really thus
If it's only one-sided?
Why want for more
If one doesn't use what's already provided?
What would be the meaning of living
If we didn't care for ourselves?
With nothing to set upon it
What use for a shelf?
What's the purpose for slumber
If one's mind won't rest?
What's the use for effort
If it isn't one's best?
What reason for an apology
If the wrong can't be made right?
And is something less there
If it's simply not in our sight?
Why is lonely still lonely
With so many others around?
Why do I feel like I float
With my feet on the ground?
What is conversation
If the words one desires to say go unspoken?
Does one's heart still beat
If it's been left broken?
What is a life
If no one will care?
And what then, is Love
Without someone to share?
We all a purpose in this world
Great or small,
That you may discover yours
Is my wish for you all.

This doesn't all go together I suppose, as I reread it, but just some inner ramblings that came to my mind as I'm pondering what to do with myself! :) Love to all...Michelle

Every one of your opinions means so much to me...especially you that are here listed...and Tommy, you are new to me but I love your poems...Chris...you CAN write at LEAST as good as me, give me a break already!!! And Timmy..well what you said was just so sweet...lawrence you are fast becoming someone whos comments I look forward to reading because you are always so darn complimentary!!     You know you really are good at writing poems because I'm sure it's like almost every day I come on here and see you've added a new poem (promise I'll get through them) It's just the fact that they're not rubbish poems making up the numbers. There was your special rhyming poem, 1st and 3rd, 2nd and 4th lines, which I think is really dificult to write but hich you wrote in a matter of days. Then there is this 'observations' poem which makes a lot of sense when you think about it. I think I've read another but I will read more, well done, K
