Darker side of the lighter me

Darker Side of a Lighter Me

Who are you?
Why did you do that?
Standing in the shadows;
waiting.
For what?
You scared me
the heart pounding
blood pumping
cliches of fear;
I felt them all.
Opening my mouth
a scream
bubbling inside me
bursting into silence.
Trying again,
forcing the voice to be heard.
Nothing.
Are you me?
Like he said?
The darker side of the lighter me?
The one I want to hide
from the public eye,
but you looked like a private eye.
Black trench-coat,
trilby,
pulled down over shaded eyes
black frames and white lenses
lined
horizontal.
Strange.
What I saw.
You belong in a graphic novel,
the next frame from an exploding KAPOWWW!!
But you were in my head
taking my voice
from within.
Don't come again
I know where you hide.
That space where the wall juts out
so you can jump out on me.
I know where to look
and voice or no voice
I will scream you into oblivion.
