Stand in the Rain

by No1ButMe   Aug 30, 2006

She never has the time
To slow down and take a break
But she knows she doesn't want to
Then everyone will see her heartache
When she's all alone
Her world starts to cave in
She looks into the mirror
And says "everything is in ruins"
She doesn't want to remember
Anything from her past
She wants to start a new chapter
And make it a blast
But that won't happen
At least not today
So she lives with the pain
That to her may never go away
She afraid to cry
Even more afraid to set it free
As she stands in the shower
Saying "oh god why me"
She leave bite marks on her tongue
From everything gone unspoken
She's never going to tell the world
Of how she was broken
She paints a smile on
And tells everyone she's OK
But you can tell she's lying in her eyes
She needs to break away
She fighting herself
As the first tear falls
She's so beautiful in her misery
But now she's not standing tall
She begins to run
With no destination in mind
Just somewhere she can escape the pain
And get away for some time
She comes to a street corner
And she sits down and prays
"Please just let me go"
"Please let this be my last day"
The rain starts to come down
Covering her face
Not wanting to cry
She ducts into a small forgotten place
Soon the tears form
And now they won't end
She's alone in this world
Not one single friend
She lets her guard down
As the tears release her pain
She doesn't even notice
That her face is no longer wet from the rain
So she stands out there dripping wet
As she goes to sit on the cold hard ground
She repeats what was once said to her
"One day what's lost can be found"
So she continues to go on
Standing through the pain
And when she's upset, you know where to find her
She'll be standing in the rain...
