Holding Her Hand

by Sarah Ann   Aug 31, 2006

They hold hands,
Like the happiest people in the world...
For they are in love,
And I stand in a crowd.

He pays no heed to my existence
And in conclusion, holds her hand...
Fondled with infatuation,
My boyfriend holds her hand.

And when we lie together, he thinks
(Young minds traveling between worlds)...
Alas, his is not on knowledge.
A princess was found; far better than me.

Horrified I stood. For then I saw it.
The portrait will always be broken
Yet, my mind...will always dwell on what they had
And the way he holds her hand.

My heart shattered.
A thousand pieces hit the floor.
I cried trying to glue them back together,
But the blob just broke again,
Because my boyfriend...He walked away
Holding her hand.
