Didn't Even Say Goodbye

I lay in the grass
and look up at the moon.
Thinking about
me and you.

Thinking about
the first day we met.
Our first day of jr. high
next to each other where we sat.

When we first
hung out with each other.
It was so great
how we always laughed together.

We became the best of friends.
When one of us were down
we had each other for our hearts to mend.

Then you just left
without a trace.
No more you and me
every single day.

No more you
to make me smile.
I do admit
I was in complete denial.

Didn't think you'd ever once
leave me here.
Without even a goodbye
I've cried so many tears.

It's been a year now
since you passed away.
But I look up at the sky and know
I'll see you again... someday.
