A Good Night's Prayer

by aDORKable x3   Sep 3, 2006

Now I lay me down to sleep
I pray, dear friend, you will not weep
For when I die before I wake
My own life I had to take
So with these pills that I will swallow
To the hands of God that I will follow
Up into the heavens, smiling above
A place to find true compassion and love
For Earth is shuch a saddening place
And you can no longer look people in the face
So with this goodbye, I hope you will see
That I have died most peacefully
So lay my bones down to rest
I'm sorry to say I've failed the test
Remember me, now that I'm dead
And as I lay tucked into my bed
Hold me close and don't forget
That I'm in your heart, do not fret
Smile upwards and pretend
I'm right there next to you, my friend

** I have no idea where this came from...I am a very happy girl...I think I read something similar somewhere and made my own version. It's also modeled off a prayer that I say, but that one's much shorter!!** =)
