Meaningless

by Crossiance   Sep 5, 2006

Walking on forever alone
I see your sweet face once more
Again, I long for you--
For what we could have been.

It's all so distant now;
A fading fantasy...
Hope no longer alive.
It's meaningless.

The light is blind to me.
It refuses to shine for me.
I dwell in the darkness,
But night is never blind.

So long have I wanted you!
So long have I waited...
and so long I have hoped.
The sun turns its back on me.

I've yearned for you to love me...
And now that you do,
I must share your love.
You're heart is already taken.

In the end, I'm left lonely...
My heart seeps out for you
Slowly, endlessly, for YOU.
Yet, it is meaningless.

I wish I could turn from you
I wish I could give up...
But that is impossible.
My heart belongs to you.

Though my hope is gone
I still cling to a nonexistent memory
Of what could have been
Us.

Yet, it's meaningless.
