Miss Marionette

by Dacey Flame   Sep 5, 2006

Love struck little twinkle-toes,
listen as the wind blows.
your pretty face adorned in bliss,
as he leans in for one last kiss.

Creep away to where you belong,
the morning light just seems so wrong.
Get caught and you'll be done for sure,
to return again for Love's sweet allure.

People stare as you start your day,
they scowl and think they know your way.
Hold your head high, Eyes of Fire,
maybe your not such a great lier.

The tears burn your cheeks, don't they?
nobody cares what you have to say.
Your no longer lovely Miss Marionette,
in just one night your future was set.

A boy with a plan, right from the start,
first sets you up, then breaks your heart.
You simply can't believe it, you have to cry,
The one you love is someone else's guy.

    Sad.
As a reader, I can tell that you put some very strong emotions into this one. It was a very sad love poem to read.

A boy with a plan, right from the start,
first sets you up, then breaks your heart.
You simply can't believe it, you have to cry,
The one you love is someone else's guy.

^ My favorite stanza. You chose a great way to end this poem at whole. I always say that a great ending is one of the key things in making a poem perfect.

You had a great flow, imagery, and vocabulary too!
Great job, keep it up! 5/5
