Believing You

by Katran   Sep 5, 2006

You lied to me
You told me to fight
You said at the end
That there was a light

Your supporters grew
The pressure heaved
The fight was on
Or so it seemed

The voice lay dormant
The weight increased
The facade began
The honesty ceased

Time wore on
The voice still slept
The fiction flourished
The girl still wept

The anger surfaced
The hate returned
The water spilled
The fire burned

The voice was right
And it was aware
That it was needed
Once again

So I turn to you
For the final time
And tell you that
I was right

I tell you of
The hate and pain
That you once said
Would go away

You said that if
I was willing to fight
That everything
Would be all right

You lied to me
But I'll tell you the truth
I hate myself most
For believing you
