A Cruel Kind

by xxSilent Tearsxx   Sep 8, 2006

In a distant dream
He watches the girl run
They are throwing rocks at her
Just because itâ??s fun

He sees everything that happens
After a while she gets to her house
She tries to sneak in
Sheâ??s quiet as a mouse

The girl walks into her room
Tears falling down her face
The boy sees her sadness
But she hides every trace

She cries all alone
She cries in the dark
Itâ??s dead silence
Till her dog starts to bark

The boy studied the girl
And watched her cry some more
She starts rocking on the ground
As her Dad slams the door

The boy continued to watch
He sat there really confused
All of a sudden her Dad opened the door
And he looked oh so amused

His baby girl cries a little more
And soon began to weep
But she soon stopped
And didnâ??t make a peep

What was about to happen
the boy didnâ??t expect
She had made a promise
She shouldnâ??t have kept

She promised not to tell anyone
But the boy didnâ??t know why
After what just happened
He had thought she would die

The boy couldnâ??t do anything
After all it was just a dream
But how real this felt
Was everything as it seemed

He watched as he got punched
He watched her take the hits
Soon her face was bleeding
And her heart was torn to bits

The boy thought to himself
How could someone be so cruel
Especially to their own daughter
How could she let him rule?

Finally he left the room
And she sulked on her own
Just some more bruises
That canâ??t be shown

The boy watched her all night
All he saw was pain
Next day she walked to school
And it started to rain

The lunchtimes were worse
Everyone called her a name
She tries to ignore it
And sits there in shame

The boy wants to help
But he knows itâ??s not real
He wants to tell her
He can see what she feels

She sits on her own
People steal her food
Thereâ??s nothing wrong with her
Why are these kids so rude?

She was just a precious little girl
That needed to be saved
But was only rejected
Left alone to be raved

When she walked home
The same thing again
She would sure be hit
She just didnâ??t know when

She cries some more
And her Dad gives her another beating
The next day at school
She is called for a meeting

She denies everything
Because sheâ??s scared she will pay
For breaking the promise
She makes everyday

If she had a friend
Sheâ??d have the courage to tell
The support she needed
To leave this hell

That night her daddy was drunk
He takes it too far now
He blames it on her
And she doesnâ??t know how

This boy can only watch
As he feels her bones break
Her dignity was something
He could never take

But tonight was different
She would soon be dead
She couldnâ??t even fight back
Because she was never fed

Sheâ??s on the floor
And blood starts to drip
He leaves the room
Sheâ??s got a busted lip

The moment she died
The boy awoke
What he dreamed about
Nearly made him choke

That day at school
There was someone new
It was the girl from his dream
He knew what to do

He was her only friend
And he helped her all the way
Without that boy
She wouldnâ??t be ok
