Snow Melts

by Layla   Sep 10, 2006

It snowed a blizzard
So we went outside
He carried me out toward
The center of the square

We sat together until I moved
to bend down to the ground
I drew a snow-heart just to prove
I loved him all the more right then

He kissed my cheek
and I turned around
There was something bleak
In his warm brown eyes

"That is all well and good
but my dear- snow melts"
I wanted to reply, if I could
but he walked away before I did

So now, I'm alone and freezing,
I've been here ever since
Through all of theis blissful teasing
I never saw the end like this

I've been staring at the snow heart,
and just like he had said
we had a warm spell just last night
and now everything's gone amiss
