Fix the Hurt

by Layla   Sep 11, 2006

And I can't hear you
I can't feel your touch
Three thousand plus miles
Is just way too much

And I can't imagine
Life with you here
And somehow I believe
That things just aren't very clear

And I can't look at you
Like a normal daughter does
Because of what you've done
We can't return to what was

And I can't hope
That you'll just change overnight
Overseas, you're too far
To be changed by what I write

I can't hate you
But I can never love you
But I know I've lost you
Because I told you the truth

I can't remember
The warmth in your arms
And I can't remember
The extent of your charms

But I walk on the sidewalk
And hear your voice singin'
Wasn't too good, now, was it?
But it made me feel what I'm missin'

I can't hate you
But I can never love you
But I know I've lost you
Because I told you the truth

I told you how you really made me feel
And it hurts me just to tell you what is real
I wish we could keep on pretending
But we've already lost the happy ending

Think about me
Think about you
Think about all the things you've ever done, 'cause see,
It helps to say what you think
So that maybe it won't hurt as much as me

I can't hate you
But I can never love you
But I know I've lost you
Because I told you the truth

And you know, It's killing me
To say these words
I don't wanna lose you
I just really wanna fix the hurt
