For What It's NOT Worth

by Layla   Sep 12, 2006

I am listening to your lecture
But it's only courteous indenture
As your insults burn
And away I turn
'Cause I'm conscious and breathing
And calmly receiving
Your endless convictions and curses in my ears

You aren't worth the space
Can't run with the pace
And as you run down the list
I'm sitting right here
And able to peer
Out into the rain
Face streaming with pain
You gave me
For what it's not worth: don't you see?

God, can you stop now?
You'd think I don't know how
To breathe freely
Singing steely
Notes getting lost severely
Costly
You're never going to end this madness

I try so hard to make you cheery
But all I get is to be teary
Don't you care?
What do I feel?
You're hurting me
I'm dying slowly...

Dying slowly...

A feeling just about everyone can relate to sooner or later...terribly sorry your having to deal with it...but writing helps hey? It releases things just like this and you came out with a good poem!
