Tainted Reunion

by Absinth Eyes   Sep 12, 2006

Tortured souls show no remorse
Lingering embraces echo no pain
Do spoken verses of heart
Still deceive the eyes that cherish?

Hands pinned down in sweet memory
Faces painted in Shakespearean tragedy
We turn to clouds of salvation
In a raised sea of self deception

For riddled answers to rhetorical questions
And handfuls of unadulterated denial
Sets of eyes avoid each other's beauty
And each is all blinding to the other

Should they see glory's light again
It will be their fall of faith
Eyes meant to gaze into each other
To be each other's deliverance from joy

Hollowing the safety of gentle arms
Their snow globe sky forever twilight
With holes of interstellar glitter
Leaking our sanity into the Milky Way

The air on which our hope breathes is drained
Our sights both shattered by the others demise
Tortured eyes know no shine
Lingering thoughts kill the strongest hearts
