Don't Cry For Me

by Danielle   Sep 15, 2006

Here we are again
That old familiar place
Where the wind would blow, whistling a tune
Just for you and me

Oh, how it's changed

The wind has stilled
And the tune we once heard
Now remains silent like the night

And I've taken my leave from this place

Don't you cry for me
Don't shed a tear
Please don't bow your head and hide your eyes
There's no shame in the sorrow you might feel
But please don't cry for me

There's no blame to place
My leaving was meant to be
Soon you'll see
Our time together will always be

Don't you cry for me
Don't shed a tear
Please don't keep your smile hidden in a frown
There's no need to hide the happiness your beginning to feel
But please remember
Don't cry for me

There's no need to carry guilt through this life
It wasn't your fault
Soon you'll understand
Our time together will always be

Don't you cry for me
Don't shed a tear
Please don't pretend for me
There's no need to hide your pain
But please don't cry for me

There's no need to cry when life isn't all you planned
This I've learned
Soon you'll see
Our time together will always be

Don't you cry for me
Don't shed a tear
Please don't let your life slip on by
There's no need to hide away
But please remember
Don't cry for me

Here you are again
That old familiar place, where we use to meet
The wind blows, whistling a tune just for you

Oh, how it's changed

There's laughter in the wind
And the tune, it's a bit softer now
When I'm gone, life still carries on
So, please don't cry for me
My passing was meant to be.
