In Reflection of Our Love

by Twisted Heart   Sep 16, 2006

If you are searching for a love that surpasses all that you have known
Then take a rest and look no further, for I've written it in this poem.

It's a grand testament, to the love that we have shared
Through the many years that's past, I've always found you there.

We were young when we first met so long ago it seems
But you were the one that woke up all my hopes and dreams.

The day that we got married you saw before you a rare find
But she was lost long ago in another space and time.

Now thirty years have passed us and we have grown so old
But love has just grown stronger and it's worth more than gold.

We've seen the passing of loved ones, and grieved the death of those
We've lost some friends along the way but most have stayed real close.

We still find simple pleasures like a walk along the street
Where you lived when we first met is where we rest our feet.

Through bad times and hard times we struggled and survived
And when we thought that we were done we'd give us another try.

We've had some laughs, we've cried sometimes but through it all
Our love never weakened, never faulted, and not once did it fall.

Now here we sit upon our porch and in reflection you ask me
Is there a love that would surpass the love that I have seen.

I look with love upon your face, it's aged and wrinkled with a gentle kiss,
And as I smile I have to say, No stronger love than ours exists.
