Band Of gold

by Carol Chambers   Mar 12, 2004

A dress of white
A band of gold
A life of happiness to unfold
A friendly smile
A loving heart to under-stand
A helping hand
A tender glow
Tell me the things i need to know
the vows of love will soon be taken
as the words "I do" are softly spoken,
but now the time has passed me by
A thousand tears I've cried
A photograph
A rose of red
A gown of white lies upon my bed
A happy bride you did not see
for you were taken away from me
No-one else could take your place
how ever hard they might tried
and the wedding ring you left
behind I'll wear with loving pride.
