I remember...

by Sarah   Sep 20, 2006

May 27th, 1997
My mom yelled for me to get off the phone
So I met you at the fax machine
where you asked me out in that poem

I immediatley wrote you back
Of course I said Yes
With all we have been through since then
who would have ever guessed

We had our ups and downs
as most couples do
I will carry those memories forever
Remember all that we went through

So many dates I remember
The day you gave me that ring
I remember when you would laugh at me
cause id be so out of tune when Id sing

My notes to you in highschool
must have taken forever to read
But I was so bored in Class
Id rather write you then succeed

I remember leaving cupcakes in your truck
for you when you left the gym
And how Brad used to go with you
but that one day you forgot him

I remember speeding up that hill
trying to give it all you got
But that beater you used to drive
would overheat when it was too hot

I remember climbing the mountain behind your house
taking the dogs and huckleberry picking
how you were also so late to get me
Id just stare at the clock as it was ticking

I remember our road trips
and our silly conversations
how you'd always cook something kinda yucky
and Id complain id die of starvation

I remember the endless parties when we were young
how youd have to be the last to leave
Youd tell me to just go on home
but youd never give me the keys

I remember the cribbage games we'd play
and how Id always win ;)
I bet your shaking your head right now
and looking down with a silly grin

I could reminisce about you for hours
Our memories would take months to write out
It made me who I am today
Its what I am all about

From May 97 - Sept 05
Im glad we were together so long
I never thought you'd leave babe
I still cant believe that you are gone.
