Say goodbye

by Jordan Smith   Sep 26, 2006

There it goes, far far away, never to fully return, it's starting to shrivel and fade, leaving nothing you can do to make it stay.

The life you once knew, it's now over, a speck of dirt, your life is now what you'd call a figment of the unknown, it's through.

The sound of your own breath becomes the only noise you can hear, never to know when someone's watching you, or when a loved one is near.

You block the world out, all you feel is the vibrations of your pulse, making you want to run and shout.

It happens to other people, you don't get to see or feel, the heartache, the pain, the tears, and the lies, it comes to meet you now, no where to run, no where to hide.

Little by little you walk into reality, trying to avoid all human contact, escaping from mortality.

the life you once knew, it's over, say goodbye, it's now through.

For me the beginning could use a little work as it doesn;t really grab your attention. However the third stanza really kicks in with a punch and provides momentum that is kept up till the end. I like the ending, it has a satisfactory conclusion feel to it. Overall another good write.
