One Small Wish

by Michelle   Mar 13, 2004

One small person at a time
We can make this cold world warm
One small action at a time
To keep another safe from harm.
One small deed at a time
That helps another through
One small uplifting moment
To help one when they're blue.
One small hand held out at a time
Proffered to hold another steady
One small bit of patience at a time
Given when one just isn't ready.
One small defense broken at a time
Until the walls fall down
One small compliment at a time
To create a smile from a frown.
One small prayer at a time
To show someone you really care
One small moment in time
Taken to really just be there.
One small smile at a time
Offered to a stranger
One small bit of advice at a time
To keep someone from danger.
One small little email at a time
To brighten someone's day
One small little conversation
To help them along their way
One small gift given at a time
Expecting nothing in return.
One small bit of caring at a time
When tears at their eyes burn.
One small wistful thought at a time
For hope of better times
One small wish for everyone
To help along Mankind.
