Broken String

by Chris Rodriguez   Sep 30, 2006

The feeling grows stronger, he knows she must be near
A steady pulse of blood, contrive his fear
With every moment that's spent without her there
Another broken string, a heart needing repair
Loneliness becomes a friend hold dear

In me, a torrent of misplaced longing
A galaxy with no shining
Flows a plague so cold and lifeless
The heart it ends up dividing

Knowing that the light has passed
His dreams are now cast
But discoveries left unmade
Reveal a beauty yet unsaved

He, standing stagnant beholds the face
The morning breeze kissed this new embrace
Bitter winter now changed to June
Reflections of love in a dying room
Future concerns are made worthless
Decisions made, this I will not suppress
Confessions said that I had to
Truths revealed, I now give myself up to you
