The Angel Of My Dream

by Hugh Coffey   Oct 3, 2006

As I lay in my Bed and slipped off into sleep
I had a strange dream of a lady so sweet.
Her eyes were so dark and oh very deep,
The path to her soul So pure and unique.

We soared oh so high with her hand in mine
Above all the clouds and beyond all the time.
We flew up to heaven and then far beyond
We traveled the stars and lands most sublime.

We viewed all of creation from without and within
And all of gods creatures from beginning to end.
She gave no warning of what was to be
Or of the feelings that I would befriend.

She wove her great magic and captured my soul
Then opened the door to my heart once again.
My heart had been locked by life's many pains,
Which seems a small price to see love again.

Feelings I thought had long since been dead
She has bought back to life with a joy that is real.
The Angel of my dream my dear, it is you,
You've given to me a love I can feel.

My life now has meaning where once it was lost,
To love and to cherish till death doth make us part.
In heaven my precious I will wait for your soul
So our love can continue where the story just starts.
