The Suicide Note

by Bradley Peter   Oct 6, 2006

The dying deep within me
Is something I cannot control
This decaying of mind and body
Is the decision of my soul

My strength has long since gone
Leaving me weak to fight the death
Now it is only a matter of time
Before I breathe my last breath

My heart and every nerve
Can no longer take the pain
The things I see at night
I wish to never see again

The memories are far too dark
And wounds are much too deep
The secrets I hold within me
Have become too hard to keep

So now I take them to the grave
And finally have my rest
I leave this world in silence
With this note upon my chest

It was a good poem...in the sense that it was well written. Still, I feel some poems from your past have been deeper, but it was a good write overall.

For some reason, I really enjoyed that stanza. Good job! Jpoet*
