Prints In The Sun

by Chris Rodriguez   Oct 8, 2006

My darker side is magnified
I'm not scared I'm petrified
Hard to believe but it's so
All the love I had, you were unaware
It was for you, why do you care?
My grip is slipping now, time to let it go
You're the best I know

The colors in my heart began to ran
My feet did not form prints in the sand
There was no other place to grow
My better days have gone and past
You were here then there way too fast
Living through one last low

Waiting for you to get back home
New York is cold when you're alone
This delusion hurts, I'll take another dose
When the time comes for our last collide
I'm going to show you my true side
After than I'll go to the coast
With you or not I don't know

They don't make prints in the sun
They can't see at all
I do

I am absolutely speechless. A poet on this site named Diana introduced me to your work, an I am so astonished, every line I read is more wonderful than the last, and every new poem is simply so refreshing. My favorites has been longing for someone like you for a very long time.
