Poetry
A beautiful thing
Gives voice
To the mute
And inspiration
To the sad-hearted

My words flow on paper
Rhyming or not
Feelings expressed
In words unspeakable
By man
Impossible to understand
By fools
You read the lines above
The subtext hides below

Pen and paper allow
More creativity
Speech is an art
But not as expressive
Words lift and destroy
All the same

Words make you think
Wonder, believe
In the world and yourself
But words can destroy

This most powerful of words
Is love

I am a poet
And didn't know it
