I have no heart that I can give you
For mine stopped beating long ago.
You've lost me to Death's tidal wave

I hear your voice in hell sometimes,
A sweet memory I hold so dear.
And sometimes, if I cry hard enough,
I can see you standing here.

But hell is no place for an angel,

Tears form behind my charcoal eyes,
And your outline is much too clear.

You stare at me with distant eyes
As if you see right through my game.
I look at my hands, bloody and shaking,
Realizing, in horror, the cut in your vein.

I wished I was on earth more than ever
Where time's only truth was that it exists.
My thoughts ran slow, my chest quivered.
Hell never tortured me quite like this.

I hissed several curses, held you in my arms.
Fighting the cold that tugged you too far away
Whispered, "You can't leave me like this, my love.
You're supposed to show me Heaven someday."

Tears burned from my eyes like raging rivers
As your eyes flutter in the dark, devoid of all light.
Our demons buried the knives in our chests,
Shuddering from the pain, I hold you tight.

These are our last moments as you well know.
And these moments will count the most.
Say goodbye to the heart, for it'll stop beating
And your love will be your cruelest ghost.

I say goodbye to my dreams of Heaven
Say goodbye to my hopes of flying free.
