Rose

by Brittany C   Oct 11, 2006

You rarely ever see true beauty,
But a red rose is a sweet thing,
It's petales are soft like a pillow,
A symbol of true love,
It's radians shining like the morning sun,
The beauty of the rose is magic,
Searching you in it's grasps,

A sign of remembrance is the rose,
The red rose being the most lovely of all,
Tells some one that you care,
And that you will always remember them,
And that you thought of them every waking minute,
The rose helps give the world color,
A red rose tells others that you will always remember them.

I agree with Ed Henderson about the symbolism of a rose which you speak about in your poem. However, the poetry itself here was very, very good. I live how vivid the images explained seemed to be. I really enjoyed reading.

Sorry, but I disagree entirely with the symbolism of the rose here. In Britain the rose has an entirely different sybology, and the poppy is the epitome of remembrance. FDor me, the romanticism is lost in the choice of words, which is regrettable as the depth of meaning behind them is to be commended.
