New Eyes [from a broken soul]

by Twisted Heart   Oct 11, 2006

See not with eyes of pain and sorrow
'Tis but an empty soul you seek
Into the plains of each tomorrow
Go forth with courage on your feet.

Take heed of all who see behind
Your smile and laughing face
Those who look beyond your eyes
To see where your heart is laid.

To each new day, that lies ahead
Give thanks for the hope it brings
Into your heart, the hungers fed
With new ears hear it sing.

Don't cower down to a life unknown
Take comfort in the strength you wield
With words and actions that have grown
From your soul's replenished shield.

Then look upon the future's caste
As distant dreams, yet to treasure
Embrace it's body, as it moves past
Enjoying all it's warmth and pleasure.

This was a very upbeat, inspiring poem. I really did enjoy reading this one, and I feel out of your last few days poems, this is my favorite! Good Job! Jpoet*
