Clipping the Wings

by Lyndsay Kalyta   Oct 12, 2006

There she goes again
You know her better
Than to do that to her
When you yell and scream
She gets up and leaves
She hates it, and you know it
How does it make you feel
To know you're the cause
Of those tears
Running down her face
I hope it makes you feel
Like a total disgrace
You lock her up
Thinking it's going to help
But she's smarter than you think
She knows how to get out
You're clipping the wings
Of an angel,
A child of God
Who can fly on her own
You think you can stop her
But she doesn't need
Those wings she has grown
You're clipping the wings
Of an angel
Who hates where she is
And just wants to go home,
Home where she's safe
Home where she's loved
So she'll fly away
Until she's home with
Her Father Above
