She wanted her mother,
to hold her when she cried,
but her mother was too busy,
so busy, so she lied.

She lied to her mother,
she said she was ok,
that she understood her mother had to work,
to get them through each day.

She wanted her father,
to treat her with respect,
but her father was superior,
in every aspect.

She lied to her father,
that she didn't steal his rope,
he never understood her lies,
and that she couldn't cope.

She wanted her brother,
to protect her from rape,
rape from the other,
the one she couldn't escape.

She lied to her brother,
said nothing ever too place,
that she didn't take his knife,
she lied to his face.

She wanted a life,
she wanted a soul,
but really all she wanted,
was her story to be told.
