Moment's still.

There are moments when I'm lost
When your face I can't recall
When the fear of losing you
Is the greatest fear of all.

And in solitude of waking dawn
I cried last night in moment's still
For lost to me... a tender fawn
'Twas gone for e'er of her own free will.

And many a year of deep regret
My saddened soul shall long recall
The love I glimpsed I'll ne'er forget
Or the pain to which my heart did fall.

And pained by cupid's arrow wrought
A living hell... eternity ruled
But passions came and passions fought
A love, my heart, your beauty fueled.

But was the anguish in my heart
A joy to overcome for me
No! Anguish kept us far apart
Too distant was my love for thee.

I reached to hold you in my arms
To soar with angels o'er my head
And ignoring all my many charms
You stilled my heart and ceased it dead.

So love again ne'er will greet
This heart now torn on many a thread
For loving you was doubly sweet
But losing you brought tears to shed.

Did our paths of love entwine?
Or was our love a dream unseen
Perhaps in life you ne'er were mine
Yet, you to me... had always been.
