I saw a widow crying

by Ghoulishly Dead   Oct 20, 2006

I saw a widow crying
having lost the one
she truly loved.
People gathered to pay
there condolences to her,
she stood there crying thanking them.
Wondering how life will be
without that loved one by her side,
all those happy and wonderful years,
sharing every essence of their life.
Now he's gone,she's all alone,
wondering just what life will bring.
I saw a widow crying today,
i bowed my head and said a prayer.

I think you said what needed to be said eloquently and within a frame that didn't dwell on some inner misery of your own. It examined everything it needed to examine beautifully.

The reason why i didnt go into detail about the widow was because what was said was enough to convey how the widow felt at that time.

It's a good poem, but why not go a little deeper into the feelings of the widow? what made her something that attracted your attention?
