A Golden Locket

by BeautifulxMess   Oct 22, 2006

One cold night, she cries
herself to sleep.
Poor little 5 year old
didn't deserve this beat.

Broken from a promise
he made. A golden
locket around her neck
just began to fade.

It was her birthday
present when turned
five. Engraved was
"Daddy's always
by your side."

All she did was ask
him for night story
from dad. Instead
he laid her down
and she lost all
she had.

She lost her dreams.
She lost her smile.
Lost her beating heart,
and it bled as she
scream for a while.

Her bed wasn't her
cloud to drift away.
It was a reminder what
he did that day.

As her mother tried,
she couldn't defend
her girl. So daddy didn't
care that he ended
mommy's world.

"Daddy what are you
doing!? Please stop!"
He got hold of her again,
and her body's in knots.

He left the house to
leave her little girl to cry.
The morning came in,
and the sun came into
the sky.

They remain still on the
floor covered in red.
As the girl awoken she
saw herself dead.

Her wings took her
and her mother far to
the heavens in the sky.
They can now forget what
daddy did to make
them cry.

A golden locket remained
in her hand. A message
in it read " Daddy will
never hurt you again."
