Her Last Words

by A New Beginning   Oct 26, 2006

She lies in her death bed
Pale, weak, and still
Remembering all she's done and said
And wrote in her last will
Thinking about all her regrets and dreams
Recalling the meaning her life's scheme
Remembering different events in the past
Trying to figure out which memories will last
She continues to think and wait
Patiently for her final fate
When that'll come, she's not sure
So for one last time she wants to endure
The pain while she tries to speak
One last time, her voice so weak
Turning, she opens her teary eyes
As her husband also cries
For one last time she speaks with him
As her life's light begins to dim
Her eyes opened wide
Just before she died
As the last bit of life in her came through
She whispered her final words to him, "I love you"

    "Her eyes opened wide
    Just before she died
As the last bit of life in her came through
She whispered her final words to him, "I love you" "

WAS a great way to end the poem, but since the first 2 lines are read quicker than the last it kinda drags the last 2 lines out.

    Just some helpful tips
    ~Still a nice poem though 5/5
