Blackened Red Rose

by aDORKable x3   Oct 27, 2006

A Blackened Red Rose lies upon her white chest
While she silently slips into an eternal night's rest
Her black-laced dress tied up a little too tight
But don't worry about her; she'll be all right.

She lies there so peacefully; you almost can't help but stare
It's like her lifeless body, isn't really lying there
You go to reach for her hands, but their touch is so cold
You replace them back on her chest, over the rose she holds

Lying so peacefully, you could never help but to guess
Her final form would leave you possessed
You try to smile but your efforts are in vain
You try to hold back tears, but they're causing you pain

A Blackened Red Rose lies peacefully on her chest
While she silently slips into an eternal night's rest
You know that you'll never see her again
So you walk away not knowing what might have been

You used symbolic colors well... i don't know if you ment them to be symbolic but every color mentioned brought me a little closer to the poem. well done.
