Angel That Lied

by Cooper   Oct 30, 2006

Flickering devil hair
attuned to silver white wings.
And slender golden skin,
alike Her holy kin.

I drew her from the clouds,
as called to Her with secrets,
though favoring me,
with twisted pleasures and ideals.
A demon heart lady,
with an angelic body.

Though distorted,
from pasts of temptation.
She were no angel,
and but not a demon.
'Tis something I cannot describe,
and still, I did take her bribe.

My hands caressed,
slender unrivaled legs,
next to none for dressed.
And hair whispered upon my face,
centuries untold,
beneath black silky lace.

And twas while we slept,
where urges no longer wept.
I unsheathed a blade,
from deep within it's cage,
and buried it within her thigh,
like the dead and their dark mage.

An attempt of horror,
lit her sin stained eyes.
As much as my body wanted her,
my heart could not take it's lies.
So I killed my pleasure,
because no angel, nor demon, not even human, was her.

Mmm! I love that poem, what a refreshing style! I love the structure, or lack-there-of, a truly inspiring piece. I agree with (and enjoyed the explanation at the end, though it wasnt neccessary- a great idea) you when you point out that its funny what the mind can derive from things, I look at some of my poems and they start about one thing e.g. death and end up with a spades love affair... I think my head is broken, and I think yours is wonderfully intact. Great poem! *stops saying un-comment like things*
