The Drunk Driving Saint

by Hope Bound Heart   Oct 30, 2006

I lay here and weep
I try and rewind
As the grains ware down
In the sands of time

I try and remember
My forsaken love
Killed by the heavens
Residing above

I lay next to her
Wishing I could tell
Tell her the truth
To save me from this hell

I remember the Happiness
I remember her smile
I remember the love
I've missed for the while

Her pillow is wet
My tears soak through
To take it all back
There’s nothing I wouldn't do

But her mind has cast
A spell that wont break
Nothing I say or do
Could ease her hate

Our love has died
Never to rise from the grave
In the graveyard of loss
Our love shall remain

The dead cannot talk
To the ones who are alive
I wish I could tell her
To dry her teary eyes

I wish she would stop
With all of her hate
To just love me
and forget his mistake

Even though she cant see me
I wish she knew I was there
to know that I love her
To know I'll always care
