Goodbye

by Brandi Simmons   Mar 18, 2004

This poem is about graduation. My best friend will be graduating high school soon.

I sit in the dark,
I hold back the tears.
The day that I've feared
Is finally here.

You walk across the stage
As they call your name.
I sit in the stands.
I scream, I wave.

"There she is, she's done it."
I think to myself.
My life is now a
Living Hell.

My heart is pounding,
The tears are flowing.
I look up to see her face,
It's filled with all its beauty and grace.

She looks down on me,
I feel the pain.
My heart is aching,
Bust stong I must stay.

It'll be hard without you
By my side.
But I'll hold my head high
As I walk with pride.
